Social Workers are required by the Forth Valley Accredited Programmes Team delivering Group Work Programmes and 1:1 / 2:1 offence focused interventions. The main focus of these posts are to provide Moving Forward : Making Changes (MF:MC) for sex offenders and Caledonian Men's Programme for perpetrators of domestic abuse, you will also have opportunities to deliver 1:1, 2:1 and other programmes over time.
You will work in partnership with Criminal Justice Teams across Forth Valley to select participants for the Programmes, prepare them for group work, deliver group work sessions, monitor progress and manage risk. You must have an understanding and experience of working with offenders. It would also be an advantage if you hold accreditation in any of the accredited programmes. The Programmes are integrated with other services, in particular the Caledonian System requires close working with women and children's services staff. These posts will also require the undertaking of assessments and provision of reports to Court.
You will be an experienced and skilled worker, preferably with recent experience of delivering groupwork. You will have a sound knowledge base in relation to statutory Social Work, preferably in Criminal Justice and have a good awareness of effective practice with offenders. It is essential that you hold a DipSw or equivalent qualification and registration with SSSC. It would also be an advantage if you hold accreditation in risk assessment tools such as SA07 and LCSMI. You will have access to regular supervision and training.
You will be required to work flexibly, including evening work, to meet the needs of the client group (current groups can operate until 10pm Monday to Friday).
These posts are based in Falkirk but you will work across Forth Valley including venues in Clackmannan and Stirling.
You may also be required to undertake other duties as may be required by the Director of Social Work Services or his/her representatives, for example to provide assistance to other criminal justice funded services within the Forth Valley.
The recruitment process for these posts will consist of a structured interview and a practical exercise. Candidates selected for interview will be sent material to read prior to the interview.
