Environmental Services Facilities Supervisor (Ref: ORK01783)
37 hours per week
£22,698 - £24,897 (including Distant Islands Allowance)
We are looking to recruit an Environmental Services Facilities Supervisor to supervise the in-house Environmental Services Facilities team delivering waste management services to Orkney Islands Council and other nominated bodies.
You will assist in the provision of waste management, disposal and associated services to Orkney Islands Council. The role requires that all works are carried out in accordance with the relevant Health, Safety and Welfare legislation, Environmental Legislation and the Council's Health and Safety Policy.
The post additionally involves the active encouragement of good Waste Management practices, the principles of the Waste Hierarchy, and further to supervise the Waste Prevention and Recycling Operatives/Assistants engaged in waste awareness duties.
It is essential to have a full current driving licence. You should also hold a minimum of HNC/SVQ3 or equivalent level qualification and hold Standard Grade or equivalent level qualification Mathematics and English.
The post is subject to Basic Disclosure clearance.
