Waste Disposal Operative (Chargehand)

37 hours per week
£19,554 - £20,615 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

As you will be acting in the capacity of Chargehand this salary includes 2 additional salary spine points i.e. up to point 22 (£20,615 including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking to recruit a Waste Disposal Operative who will act as Chargehand at Chinglebraes Waste Transfer Station.

The Chargehand will continue to work as part of a team carrying out the normal duties of a Waste Disposal Operative within the Waste Transfer Station. The Chargehand will, however, be responsible to the appointed Supervisor for ensuring that the work group carries out the duties involved in the running of a Waste Management Facility.

Training will be provided if necessary to ensure that the level of skill is commensurate with the post.

You must have a positive approach to health and safety and a flexible attitude to work with a willingness to undertake a variety of duties. You will participate in the standby rota as and when required.

It is essential to have a full current driving licence. Experience of operating bulk handling equipment e.g. forklifts and loadalls is desirable.

The post is subject to Basic Disclosure clearance.
