The Jobholder must be a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), gained through a period of practical training, coupled with a degree level education or an equivalent professional study.
It is essential that the jobholder has previous experience in Building Maintenance on a large scale including project planning, tendering, procurement and estimating. Experience of the building contracting industry from the contractor and client perspective is also essential.
Experience in the post is needed to enable the jobholder to become fully familiar with Midlothian Council policy, procedures and standards, different building types, tendering and procurement options, information systems and best practice targets. The jobholder is required to maintain up to date knowledge of matters that influence building maintenance projects, such as material and construction costs, legislation and technology.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £35,991.68 per annum.
