£21,579 – £23,660 - Years 1 & 2 of training
£26,798 - £29,536 - Years 3 & 4 of training
£33,970 - £36,434 - Fully qualified
All salaries inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance
Orkney Health and Care are looking to appoint a Social Worker in Training to join our well established Children and Families Social Work Team.
The team covers the complete range of child care functions including Child Protection, Looked After Children, Youth Justice and Children in Need; Therefore, we can guarantee a varied and interesting workload. Orkney Health and Care recognises and is committed to developing preventative and non-statutory interventions and have invested time and resources to this, including, Social Pedagogy and Systemic Practice approaches.
You will be part of a small, experienced team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers based at the Council Offices in Kirkwall. We will provide regular supervision and guidance within a supportive team.
We are committed to encouraging and supporting our staff to develop their career through local and national training opportunities and effective continuing professional development.
You must either be accepted onto an approved course of study to obtain the professional qualification in social work as a pre-condition of employment; or, already be in training for this qualification. Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is a requirement of employment.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
