Our Housing Advisor Modern Apprenticeship will give you the practical experience and qualifications you need to help secure a career in housing. So, if you are aged 16-19 (prior to 30 September 2017), live in North Lanarkshire and want excellent experience and a recognised qualification, this opportunity could be for you.

Working within Housing Solutions, alongside Housing Advisors, you will assist with the provision of a comprehensive housing service including homelessness services, allocations, estate management, rent management, arrears recovery and housing support to a wide client group. This apprenticeship involves considerable contact with the public, dealing with them in a polite and courteous manner; therefore, some work experience in a customer service role is desirable.

You will be provided with full training and gain experience in the delivery of front-line services within North Lanarkshire Council. As part of this apprenticeship, you will be required to complete your Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 in your first year, leading to the Level 3 qualification and PDA Level 6 in Housing Law Advice over the next two years.

A minimum of 4 standard grades at bands 1-3 or 4 National 5's at Band A-C (both including English and Maths) or equivalent is essential. A qualification in Admin, Business or Information Technology is desirable. You should have a particular interest in working within Housing and must be able to give examples of when you have worked as part of a team. Good written and verbal communication skills as well as a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work are essential.

This post is temporary for 1 year initially, leading to a further 2 years.
