Advert This post is internal and open to employees of Renfrewshire Council only. Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. The Council currently utilises in excess of 200 software applications across services (excluding those used in Education) and there is a growing recognition that the data held and the management processes in relation to these assets are not robust and this has resulted in: • Application that are not being used to their full potential • Unnecessary cost due to duplication of functionality • Unforeseen / unplanned costs to the Council for licensing and upgrades The Application Lifecycle Management Team within ICT Partnering & Commissioning will work to address these issues and to establish Application Lifecycle Management across the council. The ICT Application Lifecycle Officer’s role is to support the adoption and maintenance of a lifecycle approach to all ICT goods and services to demonstrate effective and efficient use of ICT resources. These roles include all ICT services and products in use across the Council. You will assist in the implementation and utilisation of technology solutions, participating in projects to implement new ICT services and the collation and maintenance of baseline datasets for all ICT services and products. You will also assist in the development and maintenance of the support models and the 5 year roadmap for these services. You will also work with the Enterprise Architecture Team and Procurement Team in defining technology requirements and assist the Application Lifecycle Manager collate and evaluate tenders for procurement of ICT Services. Duties will also include assisting with Supplier Management. You should be educated to degree level, preferably with an ICT or Procurement qualification and have experience of ICT Lifecycle Management and Supplier Management. You should also have knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and the ability to apply them in practice. It is desirable that you have a general awareness of technology and how this can support service delivery. You will be a highly motivated, well organised team member with effective communication skills with effective team working skills and can develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels and in a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
