Applicants should have experience in management and supervision of staff and be able to support the Architecture Manager in the effective delivery of an architectural service.
Applicants must be a member of the Architects Registration Board (ARB) with substantial post qualification experience. You will have a broad experience of brief development, design and production information, procurement options and general project management of a wide ranging number of projects. A high level of computer literacy is required and the ability to lead and motivate staff is also essential. The ability to travel within Aberdeenshire is essential.
Aberdeenshire Council's Architecture section has a significant and varied workload across a wide range of project scales and client groups. Typically the value of live projects is circa £110million in any financial year. The Architecture section includes a wide range of specialities (Architects, Technologists, CDM-advisors, Project Managers, Contract Leaders, Property and M&E Inspectors) and is part of a multi-disciplinary team in Property and Facilities Management.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
