Hours: 35 hours per week
South Lanarkshire Council are operating an exciting initiative, which will provide an intensive intervention and support programme for a small group of families who are currently homeless or threatened with homelessness due to their behaviour.
We are currently looking for an experienced individual who will join us in our drive to provide support which will enhance the lives of our clients and improve our communities within South Lanarkshire.
As a Support Officer you will actively provide support to the families, on a one to one basis, assessing their needs and ensuring they receive the relevant support package. You will assist the Co-ordinator in the development of the project ensuring delivery of the objectives, in compliance with the Scottish Government reporting and monitoring mechanisms.
You must possess experience of providing intensive support to vulnerable adults and children and the ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders as necessary to maximise the impact and benefits for our clients. You will preferably be qualified to HND/HNC level in relevant discipline.
You will be required to demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be flexible in your approach in order to meet the demands of the post.
This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.
Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children or protected adults.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by South Lanarkshire Council.
