A vacancy has arisen for a Part Time Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) to join our Patient Transport Service.
This is a key role within the Service and offers a vital service to the people of Scotland. You will be responsible for delivering high quality care and safe transportation for non-emergency patients from their homes to hospital and clinic appointments. You must therefore have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and be able to deal with a range of people, often at their most vulnerable.
You will work 5 days out of 7 which will include weekend working.
This is an entry point role to the Service and providing you have the right qualifications, you could go on to apply to become an Ambulance Technician and then a Paramedic giving you the opportunity to develop a career with the Service.
Applicants should preferably have 2 passes (level 3 and above) at standard grade or equivalent in English and Maths.
Please note - Candidates must have D1 on their driving licence prior to commencing employment, (preference will be given to those already holding this during short listing)
As part of the selection process, you will undertake a retention and recall test and a fitness test, full details of which will be sent to you if you are successful at short listing. In return, we offer a training salary of £15,545 per annum rising to £17,760 upon successful completion of the 20-week training period.
