Graphic and Digital Designer

Full-time – 35 hours per week

Main Location: Sighthill Campus


Salary: Band F £24,962 - £26,816 per annum (please note the appointment is usually offered at the first point of the salary scale)


We are looking for a dynamic and creative Graphic/Digital Designer to join our fast paced marketing team to drive brand awareness of Edinburgh College and engagement with key audiences.

The Graphic and Digital Designer role is responsible for the development and delivery of creative, brand-aligned graphic and multi-media design solutions which are on brief and delivered within agreed timescales.

The successful candidate will responsible for co-ordinating the College Design service, and overseeing the production of all work produced by the Design Team. Creativity along with strong creative storyboarding and digital design techniques are pre-requisite for this role which is digitally focussed.

The successful candidate must have a HND in Graphic/Digital Design or equivalent. A good understanding of graphic and digital design techniques, including print and web design and layouts and of brand/corporate identity and application of brand guidelines is essential, as is up to date knowledge of current graphic design, electronic media practices and software's.

Experience of the following is essential:

Experience of UI/UX and accessibility requirements when designing for web, digital and mobile Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite programmes including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Animate, Dreamweaver Experience using HTML for web and mobile design Ability to interpret briefing documents Substantial experience of storyboarding and creating suites of materials Highly proficient both with Mac and PC operating systems Significant experience in a graphic design role in-house or in agency Experience creating infographics using data visualisation techniques


An enthusiastic and proactive approach is crucial as well as the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff at all levels across the college.

The successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.
