You have knowledge and experience of children and young people and are interested in pursuing a career working in an educational environment. You have a mature approach to emotionally demanding work, can use your own initiative and have the ability to respect confidentiality. Assist teachers in promoting achievement and raising the standards of pupil attainment and provide general support in relation to the needs of the class and individuals' care, health and wellbeing and safety; to ensure a secure and safe environment.
Experience of working with children and/or young people with additional support needs is desirable as is the ability to communicate effectively with children who have a range of learning difficulties.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation
You will be based in the Inverurie CSN and will be required to work in any of the network schools as required.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
