£19,353 - £20,977 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)
We require an experienced Secretary to join Directorate Support within Orkney Health and Care. The successful candidate will work closely with the Directorate team to ensure that a high level of administrative support is provided to the Chief Officer/Executive Director and Heads of Service.
Your main duties will include diary management, minute taking, co-ordinating the Service's Committee reports, organising papers for meetings, receptionist duties for calls and visitors to the Directorate office, travel bookings, updating and monitoring the Directorate mail log, maintaining financial systems and general clerical duties.
You will already have experience of working as an effective team member within an Administration team, excellent administration and computer skills, ideally using Microsoft Office Applications. You will need to be able to work under pressure to strict deadlines, use your own initiative, maintain confidentiality and be able to work unsupervised. We are looking for good communication and organisational skills as you will be part of a team liaising with Heads of Service, Councillors, members of staff and the public.
The successful candidate will hold a minimum of an SVQ3 or HNC in Business Administration or equivalent qualification in an administration related subject.
