What is the role?
South Ayrshire Psychological Services are based in Queen Margaret Academy, Ayr, just 35 - 40 minutes' drive from Glasgow and Lanarkshire. This post would suit either a qualified educational psychologist or a trainee educational psychologist currently working towards their MSc in Educational Psychology.
This post offers the opportunity to join a dynamic Educational Psychology Service (EPS) whose vision is of 'equity, excellence and empowerment through psychology'. We have a passionate commitment to applying psychological research to improve the educational outcomes of all children and young people but especially those who are vulnerable.
As a service we have a strong focus on reducing poverty related attainment and developing a nurture approach across a variety of sectors including early years, primary, secondary and specialist educational provisions and services who support children who are LAC. The Service actively encourages and supports innovative and creative practice. Educational psychologists work across all levels within the local authority: from direct work with children and families (0-25 years old) to capacity building with staff and strategic development and implementation.
We are seeking a reflective practitioner who seeks solutions, thinks creatively and innovatively and who works in partnership with others. Professional development opportunities are viewed as a vital role and actively encouraged.

The Grade of this post is Psychologist Maingrade and the annual salary is from £12,038 to £15,313
