Based within Main Street Children's House, Cumbernauld, you will contribute to the highest level of child-care practice. You will contribute to the ongoing development and management of the Council's modernisation programme for young people who are looked after and accommodated.
You will also assist in the implementation of individual care plans ensuring good outcomes for education, health and the social needs of young people.
An SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, together with extended experience within a relevant child care or residential setting is essential and you will be required to work towards SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, within timescales set by SSSC, should you not already have this qualification. You will have the ability to deal with difficult situations and demonstrate coping strategies. You will also have a developed understanding of resource management, including financial control, and staff management as well as ensuring health and safety responsibilities are met. You will be self motivated, flexible, innovative, enthusiastic and inspirational. A driving licence is desirable.
You will also be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
