The City of Edinburgh Council is looking for a qualified and experienced Building Standards Senior Structural Engineer to fill a post in a busy team within the Planning and Transport Service. The team's main functions are processing building warrant applications and completion certificates in accordance with the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2004. The team also assists with liquor licensing.
A Degree in an appropriate building related discipline with chartered membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers is essential. Extensive professional experience of all aspects of structural design and construction with detailed knowledge and skills in structural engineering to the extent that the candidate can deliver the operational services and projects within that relevant discipline.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines. Your communication and customer care skills must be of the highest standard.
You would be required to carry out site inspections for which a driving licence is desirable.
