NATIONAL RISK & RESILIENCE DEPARTMENT
Special Operations Response Teams
Programme Manager – Enhancing Capabilities - Secondment
1 x Newbridge, Edinburgh
The National Risk & Resilience Department (NRRD) provides a comprehensive, effective and robust organisation-wide structure for risk management, integrated emergency planning and resilience, business continuity and specialised operational response, including the Special Operations Response Teams and Community First Responders across Scotland. The Department also manages logistics and training for specialised response. We work directly with the Scottish Government and an extensive network of external organisations responsible for resilience and emergency response on a Scottish and UK level.
Following extensive dialogue with the Scottish Government, the NRRD will manage a complex programme of work to further enhance the specialist capability of the Scottish Ambulance Service to provide safe and effective patient care in Hazardous Environments. An experienced Programme Manager is now required to work with the NRRD and stakeholders to manage the implementation of this programme.
The successful candidate should have a sound knowledge and successful track record in programme management. Ideally qualified as a PRINCE2 practitioner and with extensive experience gained working with multidisciplinary teams, you should be able to negotiate change and communicate complex information to a broad range of stakeholders.
The role will have day to day responsibility for providing robust management of the programme, maintaining productive working relationships with all teams involved. Utilising your excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, you should ensure that the programme objectives are delivered on time and within budget.
The nature of the role means that you will be required to deal with sensitive information for which official Security Clearance (SC) will be required in addition to baseline checks.
Informal enquires should be made to:
Mike Herriot, General Manager, NRRD on 0131 344 5667
