Undertake as part of a team all aspects of street lighting including maintenance, electrical testing and installation work.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.Requirements
Completion of a registered apprenticeship and practical training in electrical installation work.
City and Guilds of London Institute Electrical Installation Work Course 'B' (or 2365 Part II) Certificate or recognised equivalent qualification.
A full valid driving licence is required to be able drive Fife Council vehicles.Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include undertaking electrical testing of lighting and other electrically operated street furniture. Undertaking planned routine maintenance to columns, signs, bollards and other lighting installations. Investigation and reporting/repairing of faults on electrical street furniture. Testing and commissioning of new installations. Provide guidance, advice or assistance and technical support to public lighting operatives or other Council services/contractors as required.The Individual
You should have a good working knowledge of electrical maintenance and installation work and relevant guidelines. Be able to work on your own initiative. Working with different customers you should have good communication skills and excellent customer care skills.
