West Dunbartonshire Leisure, in partnership with sportscotland, wish to recruit a suitably qualified, highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant Active Schools Team to help us continue to get more young people, more active, more often.
This full time post is on a fixed term contract until 13 June 2018 (9 months).
Active Schools Coordinators are expected to increase capacity through the recruitment, retention and development of a network of volunteers to deliver sport in schools and the wider community; and to increase the number of children and young people participating in school and community sport.
Candidates must be educated to degree level and/or be GTCS registered; demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of the aims of the Active Schools Network; be well organised, enthusiastic, self motivated and innovative; and have extensive experience of engaging
with children and young people through sport and physical activity in the education, sport, health,
community, leisure and/or recreation sectors.
Candidates must also have proven project management experience.Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
