We are looking for an innovative manager, who is experienced in managing customer relationships, to lead and develop our Employee Service Centre promoting the council’s vision, values and reputation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Service at the beginning of our new delivery model for HR and Payroll, in a key role to direct and develop the service going forward.
Based within Dalziel Building, Motherwell, you will have responsibility for the Employee Service Centre, ensuring this provides a high quality, cost efficient and customer focussed service. The Employee Service Centre currently encompasses:
With a Degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and membership of the CIPD, you will be able to demonstrate continuing professional development and the ability to adapt in a changing environment. You must have substantial experience as an HR Professional including people management responsibility and detailed knowledge of employment law, HR processes and operational HR systems. In addition, considerable experience within a service delivery environment, experience of working with and to Service Level Agreements and of process re-engineering and implementation of projects is essential.
In this varied role you will have a number of customers with differing priories and it is essential that you have excellent people-management, coaching and interpersonal skills in terms of client management to ensure that your team are able to provide the best possible service. Equally as important are excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures, systems and processes. You must be numerate with the ability to use Microsoft applications and experience of HR & Payroll Systems.
In order to achieve our prorities you will require self motivation and a diligent approach to customer service delivery along with the ability to plan and prioritise busy workloads whilst maining accuracy. Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels are required along with the ability to establish and build strong relationships. You should have a proven ability to reach appropriate decisions and be able to apply a degree of flexibility where the circumstances warrant it. Ensuring deadlines are met over a wide range of tasks and competing priorities and of course apply absolute discretion, impartiality and objectivtiy at all times are essential.
You must be able to travel throughout North Lanarkshire and also outwith this area to undertake the duties of this post.
