To undertake a Modern Apprenticeship and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of the service.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate ResponsibilitiesTo undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures. To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.
Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities
Under supervision, and with support and guidance, the Modern Apprentice will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:General waste related activities covering waste and recycling operations, waste awareness and engagement, waste transfer operations and treatment activities. Specific supervisory training set within the waste industry, contributing to and leading on the delivery of improved work activities and their impacts on the environment. Use of systems and undertake monitoring and assessment to maintain service delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Provide information and guidance to residents and businesses of North Ayrshire on sustainable waste behaviour. Promotion of Waste Resources services by assisting with the organisation of activities, events and promotional material.
ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Education and Qualifications3 National 5's or 3 Credit Standard Grades, or equivalent
(one of which must be in English) Core Skills at Level 5, or equivalent Demonstration of the potential to achieve waste industry qualification standard Application Form Interview
Relevant knowledge and / or experience gained from education, voluntary or part time work related to the environment Membership of environmental organisation or group Performing a leading role as part of a team or group Application Form References Interview
