You will be required to work 22 hours per week (Monday to Friday, hours will be discussed at interview), 38 weeks per year.
This position is to take charge of a primary school kitchen. You will be given direction / support from your line manager. You must have Catering Manager or supervisory experience as well as cooking skills / experience
Part of your duties within this role will include the following:
• Organising the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Be able to approach problem management with ease
• Deal with any complaints
Having knowledge of the following would be beneficial to this post:
• Evaluating food costs
• Menu planning
• Managing the kitchen budget
• H.A.S.A.W. and Cooksafe
• Able to follow procedures
Also an awareness of the current food trends and customer awareness is desirable.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
