You would be required to work 30 hours per week at the Council’s Contact Centre is the single point of telephone and email contact for customer enquiries to Dumfries & Galloway Council. The Contact Centre is based at Monreith House, on the Crichton Site and provides a high quality, direct service to the public offering advice, assistance and support in a wide range of Council Service enquiries.

At the heart of this service delivery is the team of Call Centre Advisors who ensure the customer is always the priority – understanding the issues they face and working to find the answers they need. You will be a positive contributor to the team demonstrating a positive attitude, a calm approach and real drive and determination to offer the very best in quality service.

You will evidence highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, as they are crucial in this role. You will also need good listening and questioning skills along with the ability to explain information clearly and above all courteously.

You will demonstrate the ability to establish, maintain, and develop effective working relationships with customers, internal colleagues, and external partners. Finally, standard grades or equivalent in both English and Maths are essential.

The main responsibilities will be to positively respond to a wide range of enquiries via telephone and email, including dealing with potentially complex issues. The Council will provide suitable systems, processes and training to support you in this role.

The above salary includes a current living wage supplement.
