Do you have an interest in working in a community based care and support Service? Does supporting people to be all they can be despite their health challenges appeal to you? If you do, we would like to hear from you!
Working within our small outreach team of social care assistants you will be supporting an individual to live in their own home as well as supporting them to engage in community activities of their choice. Previous experience of working in Social Care, and the ability to work without direct supervision would be beneficial. You will be expected to adopt a person centred approach while working with an ethos of enablement. The support and assistance you will provide to our client, which includes personal care, will be designed to maximise and maintain their independence both within their own home and in the wider community.
You should have experience of working with people who have disabilities. You will also be expected to take our client out on social activities in their own car. Therefore a full current driving licence is essential.
You should hold an SVQ 2 in Health & Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as Support Worker in a Care at Home Service or achieve this within 3 years of appointment. There is a requirement to register with the SSSC within 6 months of appointment.
