Job Description You will join the Out of Hours Social Work Team. The team offers a Social Work service outwith normal working hours (including weekends, evenings, public holidays). When work is available, you will be contacted. There is no obligation on the Children and Families Service to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. Requirements You will have 60 relevant credit points towards first year of Social Work degree, eg K100, K101, DD100, HNC in Social Care or social sciences. Responsibilities You will provide a support service to the Social Workers and Co-ordinator in receiving, assessing and responding to all calls to the Social Work Department outwith normal working hours for Dundee City and Angus Council. The Individual You will have good oral and written communication skills, an understanding of issues affecting relevant service group, the ability to contribute to team working and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care. You will be able to work flexibly between 8 am and 8 pm. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council. You must be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.
