This post is based within the Planning Service and will be directed towards registration of planning applications but also with responsibilities for GIS mapping and administration, the corporate address gazetteer and covering other technicians' work as required. There will be opportunities for planning application work subject to qualifications and experience. Educated to HNC/SVQ3 in Planning or related discipline (surveying, cartographic, geographical) and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle (*please see Job Outline/Person Specification).
This post involves accessing the public services network, therefore the preferred candidate will be subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS). The preferred candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
