As part of a team, you will be responsible for opening, closing and securing Cupar Corn Exchange, a well-used Community Hall in the heart of Cupar. You and your colleagues will work together to ensure the building is clean, tidy and safe for a wide range of user groups. Our regular bookings include theatre groups, exhibitions, exercise classes, weekend functions/parties and regular coffee mornings.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.Requirements
Experience of cleaning in a workplace is essential. Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety is desirable. Successful candidates will be required to attend an Induction and attend mandatory Health and Safety training sessions in Fire Safety, Asbestos Awareness, Legionella Awareness, COSHH and Manual Handling.
You must demonstrate an ability to work well with people. Customer-facing experience would be an advantage.
You need to be physically capable of moving and handling equipment.Responsibilities
Duties include ensuring facilities are opened, closed, safe and secure. You will be required to carry out visual checks and record mandatory Health and Safety checks for the building.
A cleaning rota is provided and it will be your responsibility to make sure the building is cleaned and maintained to a high standard. You will be expected to deal with customer enquiries and respond to the needs of Community Centre/Hall users.
You will be required to deal with customer bookings which will include completing booking forms and passing on relevant information.
You will be required to carry out manual handling tasks including setting up and dismantling for functions and events.The Individual
You will be predominantly based at Cupar Corn Exchange. However, you can be asked to work across a Cluster of Fife Council Community Halls and Centres. Appropriate travel expenses will be provided.
A typical rota will include 3 members of staff covering dayshift/backshift and weekends. This will include occasional late night functions.
You need to be able to work well on your own and as part of a team.
