Shift rotas are in operation and the post carries salary enhancement of 7%
The key duties of this post are:To manage the day to day running of a Care Home, ensuring that the relevant statutory/Council policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to. To create a homely environment for residents, by implementing the philosophy, role and objectives of the service. To manage the Home in accordance with standards set by the Council, the Care Inspectorate and the Scottish Social Service Council and, in conjunction/consultation with the Senior Manager. To maintain the best possible levels of professional and managerial practice within the operation of the home and its services in accordance with approved Council standards.
The skills and experience you must haveA Social Work, Health or equivalent qualification at degree level or equivalent (meeting SSSC registration requirements or one of a range of regulatory bodies). Experience of managing employees, particularly in a Social Work or Health setting. Experience of practice in a care home for older people or related setting. Experience of staff supervision and support. Management of budgets and resources.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
