To provide leadership and direction to a team of workers in the delivery of effective services to meet the needs of adults who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse and sexual violence and support to children who have been affected by domestic abuse.
To meet consumer need and ensure the service is responsive. To ensure that the work of the team is undertaken in accordance with legislation and guidance, Council policies and procedures and within agreed budgets.
Work in conjunction with the Public Protection Committee to develop the Violence Against Women and Girls agenda.
The skills and experience you must have:A degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification. Knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse and sexual violence on children and adults Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies including adult and child protection Effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
