Senior Youth Worker

2 hours per week, 24 weeks per year
£10.81 – £11.70 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

An opportunity has arisen within the Holm/St Andrews Youth Club for an energetic and enthusiastic individual interested in working with young people in an informal setting.

If you are keen to get involved in youth work, or wish to further develop your current experience in supporting and working with young people, then we would be delighted to hear from you. A comprehensive training programme and an excellent rate of pay are available to successful applicants.

The Senior Youth Worker is responsible for the co-ordination and running of the club, and along with the General Youth Worker is expected to work with the members to develop an interesting programme of activities in the youth club. In addition the appointed person will be required to attend other meetings and training events, over and above club sessions.

You should have experience and an understanding of work with children and young people in an informal setting. You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy.

Please note our Youth Clubs operate up to a maximum of 24 meetings each year including excursions and attendance at Orkney Association of Youth Clubs events.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
