Project Manager – Developing the Young Workforce
35 hours per week
Temporary for a period of up to 1 year
£30,352 - £33,893 per annum (including Distant Islands Allowance)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to support the development and delivery of the Scottish Government Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) policy and recommendation, based at Orkney College UHI.
The post will include the day-to-day operational management of activities and finance, with overall responsibility for DYW alongside the development and delivery of activities within Orkney. The Project Manager will also line manage an administrative assistant undertaking a Modern Apprenticeship.
Applicants must hold a relevant degree or equivalent SCQF9 level qualification, and have experience of thinking strategically with team management experience, budget management skills and performance monitoring experience. Experience of at least one of the following; education; apprenticeships; or award frameworks; is also essential.
The successful postholder will need the ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney and beyond to meet the operational requirements of the service, which may also require overnight stays in the islands.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
