Marine Harvest has a vacancy for multi skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Electrician within our Cleaner Fish Production team based at Black Point, Penmom Beaumaris, Anglesey, Gwynedd, Wales. Marine Harvest recently purchased this site which is a marine recirculation fish farm formerly owned by Anglesey Aquaculture Ltd (AAL). This facility will be re-built and developed over the next year into a state of the art cleaner fish hatchery.
The position will initially have a key role in contributing to the site development project, working with external contractors and the project development team. Once the site is operational, the position will be an autonomous role where you will carry out all planned preventative and reactive electrical work, and ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained to the highest possible standards. While the role is predominately that of an electrician, the ideal candidate will have some multi skilled engineering disciplines.
Applicants must be effective communicators and be able to work productively as part of a small team, and investigate all possible areas for improved plant utilisation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of breakdown cover, fault finding, and repairs on motors, and control systems, and be willing to take part in specific industry training if required.
We are seeking applications from individuals who hold the following qualifications and skills profile or equivalent:
- Have served an electrical apprenticeship and hold recognised trade qualifications.
- IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
- CITY & GUILDS 2394/2395 & Electrical Test and Inspection
- Hold a current SJIB Grade Card or UK equivalent
- Experience of working PLC’s, Diesel generator sets
- Practical knowledge of mechanical systems
- Clean Driving Licence.
The role will be based at the fish farm site at Black Point, Penmon, Beaumaris on Anglesey. The cleaner fish Department in Marine Harvest has a number of sites elsewhere in the UK, and this position may be involved in, occasional collaborative or maintenance/repair projects on those sites.
This is an exciting role in a developing industry environment and in return we will offer a salary of between £28,000 and £33,000 depending on skills & experience plus bonus.
