Routes Out responds to the high risk of harm caused through involvement in street prostitution. We use a range of approaches to prevent women from becoming involved in prostitution and to support those, already involved, to exit prostitution.
We have one part time position for our evening drop-in service, which operates in the City Centre, for women involved in prostitution. They are provided with the opportunity to meet with staff to discuss alternatives to being involved, and are offered appropriate support related to harm reduction and crisis intervention.
As well as operating the Drop-In, staff also provide Outreach within the City Centre and East of the City Centre to identify, map and engage with women involved in street prostitution.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate:
o A social care formal qualification at HNC level or equivalent, or extensive on the job training of intervention skills
o Previous experience in using formal assessment tools
o Previous experience in working with vulnerable service users who have complex social needs
o A sound understanding of factors which can lead to commercial sexual exploitation
o An ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a team
