West Highland College UHI is looking to recruit a part-time Lecturer in Adventure Tourism and Adventure Education to provide inspirational teaching and associated activity to support the important role of the Adventure curriculum in the College’s strategy.
The role will involve the preparation, teaching, assessment and leadership of modules in the BA (Hons) Adventure Tourism Management programme, as well as the BA (Hons) Adventure Education and BA (Hons) Adventure Performance & Coaching programmes. Specialist knowledge or experience in the business and management of adventure operations is essential, along with a wide knowledge and understanding of the adventure sector. The post holder will also be required to contribute to practical outdoor activities, research, student support, technical support and other activities within the School of Adventure Studies.
An Honours degree in a relevant subject is essential, and a relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable. Ideally, you will be working in a similar role in Higher Education with a strong academic background and research profile. Extensive practitioner experience in a range of adventure disciplines would also be advantageous, along with advanced level NGB awards to contribute to the programme of practical activity and field work.

Pay will be on our teaching salary scale T3-5 £27,925 - £30,415 per annum, pro-rata with placement dependent on teaching qualifications.
