Job Description

You will be working within a defined geographical area, providing support and assisting people to maintain their tenancy and live independently in their own accommodation, within a sheltered housing complex and as part of their local community. An SVQ2 in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6, or the willingness to work towards this, is essential.

Working Pattern: You will be required to work every second weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, 9am - 1pm. Please see attached sample rota which indicates the working pattern for the post.

Hourly Rate: £10.37 - £10.81 per hour.

Interviews for this post will take place on Wednesday 25th October, 2017.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has responsibility for, and is required to drive Aberdeenshire Council vehicles. The preferred candidate will be required to produce a current, valid driving licence. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory. The employee will also be required to produce their licence, on request, at periodic intervals. Should the employee’s driving licence be withdrawn, for whatever reason, it may be necessary to terminate the employee’s appointment.
