Pupil Support Officers PEF (2 Posts), fixed term 29 June 2018

Salary: £20,159 - £24,029 ( sessional 39 weeks)
Hours: 36

Post 1: Castleview Primary School

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary Pupil Support Officer at Castleview Primary School as part of the Pupil Equity Funding.

The Pupil Support Officer will play a key role in supporting the assessment, planning and direct support of children and young people in relation to relationships and emotional health and wellbeing. The Pupil Support Officer will work closely with teaching and other staff and external/internal council agencies and professionals to promote the cohesive planning and delivery of the full range of educational, behavioural, emotional well being and care support services to ensure children and young people can enjoy and access their learning in an inclusive, safe and caring setting and are provided with every opportunity to reach their potential. Castleview is situated in an area of positive action and all of our staff must be confident in managing challenging behaviours and learning issues. The school team is dedicatedd to increaing the life chances of our school family and as a result the expectations are high for all team members.

This post may be available as a secondment provided applicants have the approval of their Head Teacher.

Post 2: Niddrie Mill Primary School, 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary Pupil Support Officer at Niddrie Mill Primary School as part of the Pupil Equity Funding.

The Pupil Support Officer will play a key role in supporting the assessment, planning and direct support of children and young people in relation to relationships and emotional health and wellbeing. The Pupil Support Officer will work closely with teaching and other staff (including external and internal council agencies and professionals) to promote the cohesive planning and delivery of the full range of educational , behavioural, emotional well being and care support services to ensure children and young people can enjoy and access their learning in an inclusive, safe and caring setting and are provided with every opportunity to reach their potential.

This post may be available as a secondment provided applicants have the approval of their Head Teacher.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
