The Revenue section of Community and Customer Services has responsibility for (amongst other things) the administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reductions, Council Tax billing and recovery and the Scottish Welfare Fund.
You will be joining our team at an exciting time due to the rapidly changing environment. The post is full time and you will be required to work 36 hours per week during normal office hours from Monday to Friday.
You will process changes to customers’ circumstances, ensuring records are updated accurately.
You will also be expected to deal with customer enquiries in relation to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reductions, both face to face and on the phone. Full training and support will be provided, however you must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
You will be confident and highly motivated with the ability to work within a challenging, but rewarding, working environment. You will have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, a pleasant manner and good numerical skills. You must be able to meet deadlines and deal with issues professionally. Standard Grade English and Maths (or equivalent) and experience of dealing with the public is essential.
This is a temporary post for a period of up to 1 year. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
