You will participate fully, generally as part of a team, in the maintenance of roads, footways and drainage including working with small plant and tools. Physical effort is daily requirement of the post.
The applicant will, on occasions, be required to work out with normal hours, including on stand-by / call out, and will be required to take part in winter maintenance operations.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post attracts excellent potential earnings of £23,500 per annum based on basic annual salary and participation in the Summer Stand-by Rota, Winter Maintenance Rota (training will be provided) and overtime as required on evenings and weekends to complete site works, Working Time Directive permitted.
This post has responsibility for and is required to drive Aberdeenshire Council vehicles. The preferred candidate will be required to produce a current, valid driving licence. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory. The employee will also be required to produce their licence, on request, at periodic intervals.
Should the employee’s driving licence be withdrawn, for whatever reason, it may be necessary to terminate the employee’s appointment.
