Job Purpose TO BE CONSIDERED FOR INTERVIEW, CANDIDATES MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY MEET ALL ESSENTIAL CRITERIA OF THE ATTACHED JOB SPECIFICATION. From Jan – Dec 2018 we will be running block sessions of coaching Football, Athletics, Gymnastics and Badminton during school term-time, guaranteeing 34 weeks of work throughout the year. We are looking for coaches who are able to commit to working between the dates 15/01/18 – 28/03/18, 16/04/18 – 24/06/18, 27/08/18 – 12/10/18 and 22/10/18 – 16/12/18 guaranteeing a minimum of 7.5hrs per week during these blocks. There may be additional hours outwith these blocks on an ‘as and when required basis’. Engage proactively and positively with children, young people and adults within East Ayrshire Leisure Sport and Community Venues to facilitate their personal, social and physical development through the provision of a range of physical activities and in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of East Ayrshire Leisure’s Business Plan. Additional Information Facilitate the organisation, preparation and delivery of a range of planned sports physical activities for children, young people and adults. Provide direct instruction and supervise a range of sport and physical activities attended by children, young people and adults participating in East Ayrshire Leisure’s planned programmes. Work as part of a team which plans, coordinates and implements a programme of sport and physical activities designed to engage and meet the needs of a wide range of community based participants as well as facility users. Assist in the promotion of the personal and social development activities provided by the Sport and Community Venues Team. Rate of Pay Rate of Pay - £9.42 per hour. Responsibilities Assist in the promotion of the activities and initiatives provided by the Sport and Community Venues Team by engaging and encouraging customer participation. Support the development and implementation of sport and physical activity programmes and initiatives that are structured and relevant to the intended audience or participants needs. Identify sports development progression routes for participants and signpost to other East Ayrshire Leisure programmes or specialist stakeholders, including local sports clubs and national governing bodies of sport. Liaise with Facility Supervisor or nominated representative to ensure there are regular, appropriate, competitive opportunities for participants.
