The Council has been developing the Family Group Decision Making approach and an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Social Worker. If successful, you would be working across both our intensive support teams at Families First and Community Alternatives but based at Families First, Bellshill and you could also be required at times to travel outwith North Lanarkshire. This is a unique post and it is expected that you will have an understanding of the Family Group Decision Making process and are an experienced facilitator of meetings. The post requires a great degree of personal flexibility and self-management in order to meet the needs of the service users.
You will be co-ordinating Family Group Conferences, being responsible for preparing families, children/young people and professionals for these meetings and reviews. As well as having excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be a good negotiator and have the ability to manage conflict and bring parties together in a respectful way, while remaining neutral at all times. You will be a positive and sensitive person with the skills to bring family networks together to address family difficulties using their own experience, knowledge and strength. You are required to have a CQSW/DipSW, BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Post qualifying experience in a relevant disciple is desirable.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, working as part of rota at weekend and evenings as required.
This post is temporary for a period of 26 weeks.
