Job Description

Glasgow Life is the charity responsible for inspiring Glasgow’s citizens and visitors to lead richer and more active lives through culture, sport and learning.

Currently ranked 5th place on the list of the World’s top sporting cities, Glasgow has hosted some of the world’s leading sporting events and welcomed some of the biggest names in sport. Our portfolio of sporting events is very diverse and the exciting opportunity for a Marketing Officer has arisen.

As Marketing Officer for Sporting Events you will:

• Plan, manage and deliver marketing strategies and associated campaigns across a portfolio of different sporting events
• Utilise a range of tactics and platforms to target key audiences, including traditional advertising, digital marketing, direct marketing and other communication channels
• Play an integral role in the development of the brands and look and feel of each event
• Monitor and report on marketing budgets and ticket sales
• Working to strict timescales, manage a number of different events and project elements simultaneously
• Contribute to the company’s relationship with a number of partners, ensuring their requirements are delivered

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:
• Solid experience of delivering previous multi-platform marketing campaigns
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong digital skills including evidence of the effective use of digital marketing
• Confident giving guidance and support to colleagues and partners
• Project planning and delivery skills
• Effective time management skills
• A marketing qualification is desirable but not essential
• Experience within the sports or events industry is preferable
