The department of Creative Industries is looking for a part-time lecturer to deliver classes in Media and Communications, working across various courses which may include Access to Creative Industries, NC Media, HND Media and BA Digital Media, but also across various other courses and levels. You will produce high quality learning and teaching materials, and deliver excellent teaching within the specialist area of media. You will work to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies. You will naturally have a strong learner focus.
You will have a degree (or equivalent) in a related subject and ideally hold a teaching qualification, such as TQFE.
You will be experienced in media delivery across a wide range of levels, which may include NC, HN and BA degree, with a desire to develop new and innovative approaches to the delivery of creative education in a college setting. You will be expected to develop outstanding material appropriate to the delivery of the department’s provision and you will ideally have appropriate industry experience and knowledge, which may include working in the media. You will translate this into an exciting, dynamic and creative learning experience for students.
While the post will predominantly lead on the delivery of specialist media provision, the college would welcome applicants who are flexible, dynamic, creative and able to work across a variety of specialisms, and on cross-college projects. Media lecturers are also expected to deliver Communication servicing units to a wide range of courses across the college.
Crucially, you will be passionate about creativity and providing outstanding training and learning for the practitioners of tomorrow, as part of a wider Creative Industries department.
