Originally one of Scotland’s best known 4* resorts, we’ve now expanded to include a total of 10 hotels across Scotland and the North of England, with ambitions for more. The Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel is part of our portfolio, and we’re making some serious changes.
Over the Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel we currently have 112 hotel bedrooms. We have a firm commitment to reinvesting in our Hotel and are currently working through a number of improvement projects, the Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel can offer something very special.
We need a Food & Beverage Operations Manager.
We’d love to find someone who really loves to eat and drink out themselves and therefore knows and cares about not only the quality of the food and drink we serve but also the way we serve it.
We want out Head Foodie to be a knowledgeable, fun and creative leader. First and foremost, he or she will understand what’s available within the quality food & drink scene both in terms of suppliers and competitors to make sure we’re creating great places for our guests to enjoy themselves and want to come back.
They’ll also know how to deliver the consistently high standard of service which our customers expect but also be able to throw in that little something extra, something surprising… something that shows they’re eating or drinking with us!
This person will be an important member of our management team. You will embrace our cultures concerning seasonality, provenance, concepts and creativity - all of these attributes should come together to provide a memorable backdrop to the time our guests spend with us.
You will be a role model for the teams and will lead by example with the ability to motivate the team and support the General Manager/Operations Managers in the Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel along with the Restaurant Managers to ensure a great customer experience.

Consistent delivery (and development) of the food and drink offers within the Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel. There’s a particular opportunity to significantly develop the standard and service and this will be realised by the consistent delivery of defined standards and offerings
Consistent delivery of the commercial measures and KPI`s of the food and beverage department
To inspire and unite the food and beverage teams and kitchen teams to demonstrate SMILE behaviours and to adopt a genuine, pro-active style with which to engage customers
To WOW our customers and team members with creative and thoughtful ways of working
Ensuring that the departments (and wider hotels) are operated in a way that is compliant in terms of health and safety and at all times in a manner deemed as ethical.
Finally, the skills and experience we’re looking for:
Experience of leading people through business change
A high level of commercial curiosity, drive and ambition
Experience in leading and developing teams to deliver a great customer experience
Inspirational leadership skills in both “what” you do and “how” you do it
Coaching and feedback skills
An analytical operator who has the ability to develop service and standards , not continually fire-fight
