Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels must be one of the most exciting hospitality businesses at the minute. Originally one of Scotland’s best known 4* resorts, we’ve now expanded to include a total of 10 hotels across Scotland and the North of England, with ambitions for more. The Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel is part of our portfolio, and we’re making some serious changes.
Over the Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel we currently have 112 hotel bedrooms. We have a firm commitment to reinvesting in our Hotel and are currently working through a number of improvement projects, the Ballachulish Hotel and Isles of Glencoe Hotel can offer something very special.
We need an Operations Manager.
We are recruiting for a friendly, passionate and professional Operations Manager to work across the hotels to provide excellent customer service and ensure our customers receive the best customer experience. You will be knowledgeable and a creative leader.
You’ll be one of those “think outside the box” types, the type that really want to find ways to inspire loyalty, through ensuring each of our customer receives an outstanding service. How you do this is up to you, but we know through experience that those most successful Operations Managers within our hotels have an innate interest and demonstrable experience in the hotel industry, combined with a genuine passion for keeping up-to-date with market and competitor trends.
They’ll also know how to deliver the consistently high standard of service which our customers expect but also be able throw in that little something extra, something surprising… This person will be an important member of our management team. You will embrace our cultures concerning seasonality, provenance, concepts and creativity - all of these attributes should come together to provide a memorable backdrop to the time our guests spend with us.
You will be a role model for the teams and will lead by example with the ability to motivate the teams and support the General Manager to ensure a great customer experience.

Top 5 things we want this role to deliver
Continuous development of the operational teams at the Ballachulish and Isles of Glencoe Hotels. With a particular focus on driving our offering through customer service. Ensuring our customers have a great end to end experience.
Support the teams in controlling their operational expenses and explore ways to grow revenue to meet their KPI`s.
Create a coaching and feedback culture to help them be the best they can be, hosting regular job chats and performance reviews to support ongoing people development.
To WOW our customers and team members with creative and thoughtful ways of working
Carry out regular checks and reviews to ensure the departments are operating within our safe and sound policy. We provide a safe environment for both our teams and customers.
Finally, the skills and experience we’re looking for:
Experience of leading people through business change.
A high level of commercial curiosity, drive and ambition.
Experience in leading and developing teams to deliver a great customer experience
Inspirational leadership skills in both “what” you do and “how” you do it
Coaching and feedback skills.
An analytical operator who has the ability to develop service and standards, who is forward thinking and proactive.
