Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Colvend Coast and all surrounding areas
£10,573.33 - £11,376.66

You will be required to work 20 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.

An exciting and rewarding new opportunity has arisen within our Care & Support Service.

Working with our partners throughout Health & Social Care, you will provide support and practical help for residents of Dalbeattie, Colvend Coast, Castle Douglas and surrounding areas, predominantly over the age of 65, to receive suitable Care at Home support.

Tasks are varied and could include, assisting and supporting with medication, personal care, preparation and cooking of meals together with general activities of daily living whilst providing a person centred approach to each individual.

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible Care & Support Workers to join our team.

A current full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

Ideally an SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. You must be friendly, caring and approachable with excellent communication skills and an ability to work with minimum supervision. Flexibility is essential.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
