Lecturer in Access and Continuing Education
Part Time: Up to 31.8 hours per week (20 lecturing hours per week)
Main Location: Milton Road Campus
Salary: £35,644 - £37,765 (appointment is usually made at the first point of the salary scale)
An opportunity exists within the Access and Continuing Education Team for a Lecturer. The team deliver a range of courses to students with Additional Support Needs from SCQF Levels 1 upwards. The role of the Lecturer is to develop, prepare and deliver varied and certificated programmes to a range of students with a range of abilities.
You must be educated to degree level or equivalent, and must have knowledge of the curriculum from SCQF Levels 1 and above from a teaching and assessing perspective. You must have a significant amount of experience of working with young people with Additional Support Needs and school groups. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate on a range of levels and must have experience of managing challenging behaviour in a classroom setting.
Knowledge of current legislation on widening access and participation would be valuable. Applicants may be required to work at any of the College campuses.
Consideration will be given to this being split into two roles working 15.9 hours per week (10 lecturing hours per week). Please state on your application your preferred option.
The successful candidate may be required to work across any Edinburgh College Campus.
