Undertaking a range of management and care tasks.
Demonstrating leadership skills in an encouraging and supporting
role. Providing “on the job” coaching as necessary, overseeing and
monitoring working practices. Working alongside other professionals, utilising sound practice and knowledge.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.Requirements
Must have, in the first period of registration, Social Services and Healthcare SCQF7 qualification which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration. Must gain additional supervisory or management qualification containing supervision or management theory and practice suitable for a supervisor of a care
service with a minimum of 15 credits at SCQF level 7 or above

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland
Workers new to role must gain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of start date in this roleResponsibilities
In conjunction with the Unit Manager, manage and lead a team of staff.
Become familiar with National Care Standards for older people and actively promote and monitor a high standard of service to all service users.
Contribute to the assessment care, planning and review of individuals receiving a service.
Supporting service users to participate in social/recreational activities, maintain contact with family, friends and community and promote culture in which service users are encouraged to maintain independence.
Physical care tasks (for example, dressing, washing and feeding service users and administering medication).
Deputise in the absence of the manager.The Individual
Understand and empathise with the needs of older people.
Previous relevant experience
Ability to work under, and manage, competing pressures as part of a team
Ability to make informed decisions and take informed risks
Understanding of Health and Safety requirements
Positive ‘can do’ approach with a helpful and polite attitude
