Grade: 8a/9a depending on Qualification
Hourly Rate: Grade 8a £14.8854 - £16.2254 and Grade 9a £17.7554 - £19.4054
Salary: Grade 8a £27,165.83 - £29,611.32 and Grade 9a £32,403.57 - £35,414.82 per annum
Contract Duration: Temporary until 30 June 2018
A maternity cover opportunity has arisen within in the planning policy section for an enthusiastic person to assist in the preparation, monitoring and review of planning policy in the Scottish Borders. This post could be for 6 six months, with the possibility for extension. You should hold a degree or equivalent in planning and be capable of working with minimum supervision. This post would be ideally suited to candidates with previous experience of planning policy development and research. Applications will also be welcomed from recent Planning Graduates or with other town planning experience. Position on salary scale will be dependent on your experience.
The position is based at Headquarters, but may involve assessment of sites anywhere within the Scottish Borders area. A driving licence and regular access to a vehicle will therefore be essential.
Degree (or Diploma) in Town Planning, or
Degree (or Diploma) in a field closely related to town planning with direct experience in working within town planning
For progression to Grade 9A Membership of RTPI or equivalent is required, such as, a comparable overseas qualification(s) and experience equivalent to that required to obtain RTPI membership
