About the Role

We are looking for an experienced manager to fill the role of Service Development Manager in the Service Design and Innovation Directorate. This opportunity will be on the basis of covering the Maternity Leave of the current post-holder.

The Service Design and Innovation Directorate take forward a variety of development projects and are currently involved in the continued development of Graduate Level Apprenticeships, a programme of work for Work-based Learning Innovation and other projects. This role will provide leadership primarily for the Work-based Learning Innovation programme; this programme is at a critical stage in that various distinct projects are being brought together to consolidate and make sustainable key aspects of future skills. Involved in this are different approaches to taking the programme forward, e.g. through a partnership, open innovation, demonstration projects.

The role will be based in Glasgow where the Service Design and Innovation Directorate is based. It is expected that the Maternity Leave cover will be required for a period of at least 6 months.

About You

The successful candidate should have significant experience in leading and project managing strategic projects to support new service delivery. They should also have the ability to build excellent working relationships and credible strategies to achieve the vision and desired outcomes. Written and verbal interpersonal skills, including preparing and delivering presentations, is essential.

The candidate should also have experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team and have excellent leadership skills whilst fostering a positive team culture and lead effective change whilst delivering results in a complex and fast-paced environment. Excellent judgement, tactical awareness and decision making skills is also essential.
