Location: Craigforth (please note, whilst this role will initially be account based at our Craigforth office, the role will eventually involve an element of travel, to include working at another UK location for up to a maximum of 3 days per week).

About the role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join an existing Business Change team within an established, market leading company. Working within the Life and Pensions sector you will have the opportunity to initiate, run and implement projects and work streams that affect the Life and Pensions team on a day to day basis. Delivering key Business Change projects in a commercial environment you will engage with internal and external clients and will have a hands-on approach through each stage of the project lifecycle.

What you will do:

  • Project initiation and definition of required deliverables and governance models.
  • Planning the project, agreeing the plan with project board/steering committee, and preparing detailed plans for each stage.
  • Executing the plan, monitoring progress and taking the necessary corrective actions to ensure the scope, products and deliverables are delivered to agreed time, cost, quality, TCF and compliance objectives
  • Establishing, leading and managing cross functional and multi-disciplined teams (e.g. Business operations, IT, Risk etc.).
  • Ensuring successful delivery of multiple / complex projects via industry recognised methodologies.
  • Reporting progress at agreed intervals to the project board
  • Routinely engaging and communicating with internal and/or external Senior stakeholders
  • Able to operate in a highly commercial environment and satisfy the expectations of a demanding client base
  • To fully document, consider and impact assess all risks, issues and dependencies relating to a project and define and execute effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide project financial and status updates as required for company governance processes.
  • Supporting the senior management decision making process.

Your experience will include:

  • Must have financial services experience and ideally life and pensions
  • A proven track record in project management
  • Experience of working for a sizable organisation, who have built and maintained own IT
  • Experience of working for an organisation who provide services on a commercial basis would also be advantageous
  • Sound knowledge of project planning processes and techniques
  • Good knowledge of project methodology
  • Clear understanding of risks/issues and their impact on project success, including the definition and execution of effective risk mitigation actions.
  • Demonstrable ability to establish, lead, motivate and manage cross functional, multi-disciplined teams.
  • Must have full project cycle experience (end to end), managed teams, stakeholder management skills project plan, execute a plan, proactive and managed a budget.

Desirable experience will include:

  • Prince 2 qualified
  • Ideally worked in an outsourcing or consultancy environment
